Norvax, UniCare Offer Internet Marketing Boot Camps to Help Agents Capture Sales in $100 Billion Individual Health Insurance Market

Hundreds of Agents Receive Training in Free Workshops

CHICAGO, IL-DECEMBER 10, 2007-Norvax Inc. and UniCare Life & Health recently presented advanced marketing and selling tips to hundreds of insurance agents during free "How To Close Internet Health Insurance Leads" Boot Camps, in Chicago, IL, as well as Arlington and Houston, Texas.

"Many Top agents now realize that 52 percent of individual health insurance purchases start online, and that market is rapidly growing," explained co-presenter Jeremiah Desmarais. "One in nine Americans will be shopping online for individual health insurance in the next five years, creating a $100 billion marketplace. We designed this intensive workshop to give agents and brokers the tools and skills they need to help connect to these consumers and capture a greater share of this huge prospect pool."

Desmarais is vice president of marketing for Norvax, the leading developer of online quoting software and Internet marketing tools for the insurance industry. His co-presenter was Rick Notter, manager of the Agent Performance Program for UniCare, a division of WellPoint.

"Our agents have found that selling to a consumer via the Internet is more convenient for both parties and provides a great service that most other agents are not even aware of," said Notter. "But the Internet is not a 'Field of Dreams' in that customers just appear on a Web site and sign up. That is why this type of training is crucial for any agent who plans to build an online agency. These Web-savvy consumers will depend on the agent to educate them on their policies and help to navigate the online application process."

The Boot Camp provided an overview of the current Web-influenced marketing landscape that agents now face, as well as the time-saving tools that many top agents employ to help reduce time spent on paperwork and processing and free up more time for closing sales. The presenters discussed programs to improve agent sales, including insurance Web sites, insurance leads, automated email marketing programs and consumer quote engines.

Attendees also were trained in proven phone selling skills and lead management mistakes to avoid, as well as strategies and tactics that many top agents employ to increase their closing ratios and ROIs. Case studies were presented, demonstrating how individual agents have successfully used Internet-generated leads and Web-based automated sales tools to write as many as 200 applications per month.

The two-hour seminars were first presented at the Hilton Arlington on Tuesday, November 27, and at the Marriott Houston Westchase on Wednesday, November 28, with participants coming from as far away as Louisiana and Oklahoma. A third Boot Camp was presented at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare, in Chicago, on Thursday, December 6.
