CHICAGO, IL - February 20, 2009 - Health insurance agents and brokers licensed in Michigan are invited to attend free workshops on marketing and sales training , presented by Norvax University on Thursday, Feb. 26, during the WMAHU Expo 2009. Jeremiah Desmarais, vice president of marketing for Norvax, and Rob Liano, a national sales trainer, will provide in-depth marketing education and sales training for conference attendees - at no cost.

Expo 2009 is an annual conference for health insurance professionals, produced by the Western Michigan Association of Health Underwriters. This two-day event will be held at the DeVos Place Convention Center, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Desmarais is director of Norvax University, an insurance agent training program sponsored by Norvax, the #1 provider of technology and Internet tools for insurance sales. He has also spoken at numerous conferences presented by both the national and regional associations of health underwriters.

“For 4 out of every 5 individual health insurance plans sold today, consumers are using the Internet for part or all of the purchase,” said Jeremiah Desmarais. “That’ll be over 91% in a couple of years. The biggest challenge now facing agents and brokers is learning how to compete in this increasingly web-based market. Our Norvax University presentations are designed to help them with that transition.”

Desmarais' presentation will review the current trends shaping online health insurance sales, as well as the unique shopping patterns exhibited by online health insurance shoppers. He will then discuss proven strategies used by top producers to capture online market share.

According to Desmarais, the right set of insurance sales automation tools - such as a professionally designed agent website, powerful health insurance quote engine, drip marketing program, Internet-generated health insurance leads and lead management system - can create an automated insurance agency that lets producers increase their productivity, ROIs and sales.

In the second half of the Norvax University presentation, Liano will direct participants in a hands-on insurance sales training workshop focusing on his "one-call closing" approach. Liano has trained call centers and agency sales staffs across the country in successful phone closing tactics. His workshop lessons are rooted in his own experience building a successful one-agent business out of his home office on Long Island, NY.

The WMAHU Expo 2009 is open to both WMAHU members and non-members. For more information or to register for the conference, go to www.WMAHU.org.
