Norvax To Present A Free Webinar Panel Discussion On Health Insurance Online Shopping Trends Uncovered By Study Of 446,500 Consumers

* Report looks at three-month summer snapshot of health insurance shoppers

* Webinar panel will discuss surprising gender, geographic and demographic trends.

CHICAGO, IL - November 10, 2008 - Norvax, the #1 provider of technology and Internet tools for insurance sales, will present a free webinar on Thursday, Nov. 20, discussing a recent study of nearly half a million online health insurance shoppers.

The webinar panelists will discuss a few of the key findings that emerged from an in-depth analysis conducted by Norvax on more than 446,500 prospects. The panel members will also discuss how agents, brokers and carriers can adapt these findings for their own marketing efforts.

The panel includes Rick Notter, UniCare director of sales for individual markets, Martin Carr, vice president of communication for the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), and Bob Brow, president of HealthQuotes USA. The webinar will be moderated by Jeremiah Desmarais, vice president of marketing for Norvax.

The free webinar will be presented on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 12:00 noon CST (10:00 AM PST and 1:00 PM EST). This webinar is open to all agents, brokers and health insurance industry professionals.

Agents and brokers attending the free hour-long webinar, "Who's Shopping For Insurance Online," will also receive a complimentary copy of the Norvax report summarizing the study findings. This initial report focused on geographic, current insurance status, insurability, gender and age trends.

"I'm not surprised that women aged 20-39 comprised one-third of the entire sample or that two-thirds of the all online leads generated were female," said Brow. "These gender trends support something we've been seeing and preaching about for a long time - women are taking the lead in shopping for health insurance."

The study reveals clear gender differences throughout the health insurance marketplace. Women outnumber men in all regions and age groups. But women are more likely than men to be currently uninsured throughout the country. They are also more likely to be labeled "uninsurable."

"The sheer size of the study sample provides more evidence for the urgency to get online. It's something that agents and brokers just cannot ignore," said Notter. "Consumers are going online to research, shop and buy health insurance. Agents need to be on the Internet just to keep up with today's health insurance buyer, let alone finding and marketing to them."

The Norvax study analyzed data from more than 446,500 Internet leads generated by ProspectZone, a sister company of Norvax. Each of these prospects voluntarily requested a quote or contact from insurance agents during June, July and August, 2008. The leads came from all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. To comply with HIPPAA requirements, all identifying data were removed from the sample database.

"The clear and emerging trend is toward online purchasing with three major segments dominating the market: women, seniors and the individuals with health issues," noted Brandon Cruz, president and CTO of Norvax. "If agents and carriers want to reach these audiences, online marketing is not an option: it is a necessity."
